Restaurant with a feeling of a luxurious living room

Ester Kök & Bar offers a well composed à la carte menu adapted to the season, were everyone can find something to their liking. We also have a wide range of certified Fairtrade wines and we value local producers.

Design and interior

Elisabeth Lejon from the interior decorating firm Levande Lejon have designed a number of the furniture found in the hotel. They are custom made to blend in to the Paul Smith inspired interior design she created by color and fabrics in the lobby and restaurant. The suites are located at the fifth floor and their theme is Sober glamour. All with a fantastic view over the lake Munksjön and over the rooftops of the city.
We also have newly renovated De luxe rooms designed with inspiration of a atellier and Ester Ellqvist, John Bauers wife.

We care about the environment

Environmental efforts is very important to us. It is our priority to involve this in the daily work in all the departments at Best Western Plus John Bauer Hotel and our restaurant Ester Kök & Bar. We only purchase our electricity from production with 100% renewable sources. We also focus on trying to reduce our water consumption, for instance we use water efficient faucets. In our restaurant we offer our guests sparkling water on tap. We have a wide range of certified fairtrade wines and we value local producers.

All of our products used for cleaning, dishwashing and laundry are environmentally friendly. We use soap dispensers and a specific dosage system for our washing machines to avoid unnecessary large doses. To the extent to which it is possible, we use presence activated lighting and timer regulated saunas. We are very thorough with waste separation and recycling.

An important factor for us is to get all employees involved in the environmental efforts. In addition to the mandatory environmental educations, we also distribute newsletter to all employees two times a year. We also take fieldtrips to certain energy related businesses.
